I have the jvc kwavx740 (iirc) in my 07. Its decent enough can customize colors etc has Bluetooth etc etc. The only thing it doesn't have is nav. It does the job but the BT isn't the best.

Next time ill switch back to Kenwood. Seems to have better BT. Mine disconnects very intermittently.... but haven't determined if my phone is the cause yet or not.

That said the unit looks cool in the car and got a very good price on eBay from sonic elect.

PS to get steering wheel controls you'll need a pac swi switch.

I was looking at them on ebay and a lot of them say steering wheel control and it comes with the adapter.

I have a JVC 840. I think it got discontinued but there is one that replaced it. It is right around your price range and is adjustable, bluetooth, etc etc.

This is the new version. Looks identical and seems to have the same features.

I just bought the AV60BT off amazon or less than 300. Haven't installed it yet but it looks pretty good and got good reviews. And it charges ur iPhone if u want to use it as an mp3 player. It also says it displays incoming texts msgs on the screen that should be interesting to find outbid that works or not

The screen doesnt actually show the message, it says "Incoming Message" when you are connected through bluetooth. I leave my ipod plugged into the usb port. Drilled a little hole in that cubby deal and the hook up is hidden in there out of site.

Like I said I'm just looking for one thats gunna allow me to regain my steering wheel controls and is very detailed in the music adjusting area. Bluetooth is a option for me and I don't need nav... Trying to find one that has all that and reliability. My deck I have now is a pioneer amass I've been using it for seven years in five different vehicles. Something strong like that.

Im telling you, look into that JVC. There are plenty of adjustment options. Most aftermarket decks you will need an adapter for the wheel controls and this is no different.

you just need to find one that says steering wheel control compatible if thats the case. the JVC seem good for the price and they do make some quality stuff although they don't have the instant brand recognition like some of the other brand names like pioneer and alpine.

I put it by my rearview mirror. kind of clipped it to the headliner. It works ok, but the mic isnt the most sensitive thing ever. I rarely use it. I have a bluetooth headset I use more. I mainly use bluetooth for streaming Pandora to my radio.
