Hi guys, new to the forum, came over from Clubgp.com, since it seems that place is almost dead. Anywho, I bought two HID kits for my car ('99 Grand Prix GTP) about 3 years ago, the car has been parked for that long, and I'm just getting around to working on the car etc....to make a long story shot.
So, got these two kits, one for normal driving lights the other is for the fog lamps. I got them both out while a go to look at them and noticed both ballast show that they are rated at 35W in and out, so am I ok with using these with the factory wiring in my car. I remember reading alot of people using HID kits that were rated at 55W and I can understand wanting to use some other wiring other than the factory for something with that much output, but wasn't sure it's completely neccessary for my kits.
    Fog Lamps kit

    Ballast for Fog lights

    Kit for regular driving lights

    Ballast for driving lights

And maybe someone can tell me what I bought here, I dunno why this kit which is the one for my regular driving lights has two bulbs. I can't find the manual for this kit so I'm kinda perplexed as to why this kit has two bulbs....any guesses?

    Thanks for any help!

if you running two kits you will need a realy harness and yes it will be fine with your factory wiring, but if you do use 55 watt kits then you will need realy harness so you dont burn up your facktory wires cuz 55 watt kits run very hot, and buy the way xentec are the worst hid kit you can buy, get them form ddm tuning or from vvme.

lol hows that for saying welcome to the forum? haha Anyway, Meh, with two 35w kits you would be fine using stock wiring. Its just the start up period that draws the most, and thats for such a short time anyway. That running light HID kit you bought looks to have a HID low beam and a standard halogen High beam, thats why the bulbs are stacked on top of one another, so they reflect the light differently thus giving you high and low beams.

One more thing you want to keep in mind is the DRL in our GP's. They run during the day and will need to be disabled when you install your HID's so the ballets receive the correct voltage. This is as easy as pulling the DRL diode just inside the drivers side door.

Lastly, you are also going to want to disable the flash when you lock the car with the keyless entry. This is also easily done by changing the setting inside your cars computer, instructions for this are in your owners manual.

I think thats it! Good luck.
    Infinity all around.
