I'm having trouble with the range on my key fob remote on my GT. With my SE I could unlock my doors from my living room on the first try, but with my GT I have to be in direct line of sight and within 10-20 feet. I've changed the battery and cleaned the remote contacts but it hasn't helped. Is there an antenna or something inside the car that can be cleaned or adjusted to get better range?

I think the antenna is inside the chip itself.

I have one remote thats never been used and works from very far away and the one i use daily works from 30-40 feet away in a direct line, going around stuff it tends not to work aswell.

I would say the rubbers buttons. I had an issue like this with mine, cleaned the contacts same issue. Replaced the rubber and works perfect now. They can be had cheap on ebay ~5 dollars. Worth a shot.

Already tried. The remote that came with my GT was beat to hell, so I took the chip out and swapped it with the SE remote when I changed the battery.

I only have 1 and the range is like 20 ft in a direct line. More at night for some reason haha.

I've noticed mine works better at night too

So, what about the receiver in the car? Any way to maybe make it more sensitive?
