help! possibly blown fuse?

Hey guys,

I recently re installed my deck using the gmos 04 instead of pac module. The problem is that there is now worse humming than before and this is after grounding it. The alternator whine came back which was not previously there with my other harness installed. Any ideas?



Secondly and most importanly, the deck is now not even turning on which leads me to believe a fuse blew somewhere? It was turning on fine and working fine until I unplugged the yellow power wire from the deck then put it back in now it is not turning on! Why could this be?

If you removed the yellow wire and plugged it in while the battery was connected, you very well could have blown a fuse in the glove box...blown a fuse on the radio or fried the radio. That wire is always hot.

I didn't mean to remove it. It came loose so I guess im gonna have to somehow repair it. Hopefully I didn't fry the deck and its just a fuse :/

How do you have your wires connected?

which wires? There are a million wires connected with my deck. But essentially the harness have rcas coming out of it for the speakers, then all the power and grounds are connected properly. The wire that came loose I am talking about is the yellow 12v acc wire that connects right to the back of the deck then goes to the harness. It broke right at the deck so I tried holding it back in place now the deck wont turn on. It was working fine today before the wire popped out.

It popped out of the radio harness? Remove the harness from the radio, and test it with a DMM or test light and see if you're getting voltage to that wire. It may not have seated all the way back into the connector. (after you've made sure its not just a simple blown fuse). And as for the buzzing, the harnesses that use RCA's are notorious for alternator whine. Get a ground loop isolator and see if it goes away. (you will need two)

You wouldnt...didnt realize they had 4 channel isolators. This is just an example, I dont know this brand so I cant endorse it.

UPDATE:

So today I hooked up the stock deck back to the original harness and it is not getting power either? Is this just a blown fuse? I looked in the fuse box and I can only see a relay not a regular fuse that says AUX power. Is this the relay for the radio power? I cant find anything else. What can I do??

Check on the back of your fuse block cover or owners manual for a fuse labeled "radio", check those fuses.

So I found the fuse box and found the blown fuse, replaced it and now my stereo is working! On the downside, I am still getting alternator noise through my speakers!!! How can I get rid of this or trouble shoot it. I have checked my grounds a million times. I grounded the rcas to the deck itself but am still getting decent alternotor whine. Please help!
