So I decided to try a sony xplod head unit....Im blown away. This thing sounds far supperior to my previous pioneer. It wasnt a cheapo pioneer either. ($290) I paid 119.99 for the sony. The settings they've incorporated in this unit amazes me. The ability to set the sound stage and many other tweaking options. Its super loud and extremly clear. The best part....stock speakers, and a single 12" xplod sub powered by a rockford fosgate 400.2. They sound better than my previous setup with infinity speakers. You would have to hear this thing to believe it. I was looking into purchasing new components before. I think these will do until they blow.

If it has less than three sets of preouts I'm not interested.

And it seems all decks under $200 feature 2 sets or less.

It has three preouts, and 35k colors. I like my head unit to match the dash and DIC.

I have heard the Sony stuff is decent. But have not tried it. More power to you.

I've never had a problem with Sony Decks.. Paying more doesn't always mean you're getting more..

Well last I remember, the amps suck, but Ive had great success with their 6x9s and my sub has taken a beating from a rockford amp. 3 years later shes still playing... Not as clean as she used to be, but still keeps up.

As for xplod , Ive never experimented with their HU's, so I cant give any glory or horror stories about them. Im a Pioneer HU guy. But I get the higher end HU's. Never had an issue (that I havent caused) in 15 years. I have, however, played around with Rockford amps. Back in the day, when I bought a punch 800, I heard a lot of horror stories but bought it anyway. And man, that thing blasted away for 12 years! Until it finally shorted about 2 years ago.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

In the last few years sony has actually put some effort back into their audio line up. Most people should keep them a consideration under $300

my mom is sporting a sony deck for years. even tho i heard their stuff tends to break, after trying out that deck AND my buddies 10'' subs, theyre not top of the line, but the price reflects that.

I can get some more if needed, but my phones camera sucks A$$ at night

btw, Pink Floyd sounds so crisp. It's what I used to dial in the staging and fade.
