Guys,
Took the neighbor (17) and her Gp to emissions. Knew the car would pass w/o a worry, as I told it to pass with the DHP. Car has been up and driving for about 3 weeks since I put it together for her. We park and go in for the test to be done. Tech fires it up, does the emissions and then parks it back outside. We hop into the car when it fires up and dies.
Fuel pump is being disabled. Security light flashing. Seems pissed off about the key we are using. There is no spare key (I've told her one was needed) and it's up to me. Tried the 30 minute security relearn 4 times w/o any success. I've done plenty of them and did it properly, even double checked the procedure.
Using the DHP I told the pcm to ignore the theft fuel disable signal. Car starts and runs fine, security light is flashing. I've told them to order a couple of keys and figure they need a spare no matter.
What is the experience here: bad ignition cylinder not energizing the passkey, bad VTD module or bad key? Gimme the usual experience. I haven't tested the wiring to ensure the VTD module is getting power from the column yet.
