just bought an '07 grand prix base model, and i'm looking to hook up my ipod to the stereo. is it better to just buy a new stereo and get a connector for that, or is there a connector for the stock stereo??? money is kind of tight, so i'm looking for the best option moneywise.

get an rf adapter, they work decent, and are cheap, aftermarket decks with the adapter aren't cheap

If your looking for the cheapest go with an rf. but for the money and clarity i went with and aux input from Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Audio, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV ran about $70 but i hate the static you get with most all rf adapters and the fact they have to be like right by the radio and out in the open. With the aux input adpt its all hidden away and the connection is in my center console so no one ever knows it there.

i have an fm transmitter 'iTrip' by griffin. but it really sux and other stations knock me off of the station that i'm using. i would really just like some better quality and reliability. the 70 bucks you were talking about is def. worth it to me. i only found one on crutchfield, and i'm not too sure it will work with the stock head unit. any way i can find out if it does?

Crutchfield advisor's should be able help you figure that out, I used there like fit my car feature were you put in your car and it lets you know everything that will fit. this is the one i used Precision Interface Electronics GM12-AUX Connect a portable music player, satellite radio tuner, or DVD player to your factory GM receiver! at Crutchfield.com
I have an 08 with the monsoon stereo and standard non mp3 head unit. I think it will work on any GM radio that has a 12 pin connector and the aux button on the radio. it basically plugs in between the radio and the radio wiring harness tricking the radio. Alot of the reviews on it said something about toggling between your bands but i was able to reset the jumper on the aux unit to cd chager so the radio thinks it the changer. hope this helps

crutchfield doesn't list anything for your car with a factory radio (all I saw was for Pioneer)
try this Clarity Audio and Electronics LLC: uPAC-GMC2
it is what will hook to your existing radio

ok, all of those say that you have to have a disc changer/xm/hd radio setup in your factory stereo in order to use it. i know that my prix doesn't have the changer or xm capabilities. Plus, most of those cost about the same as an aftermarket head unit does. Might as well just get one that has an aux. plug-in. Right? I saw that pioneer makes one for about $100. I just thought there might be an easier way to go. I guess i will just be living off of cd's for a while until i get some $ for upgrades. thanks to everyone that posted though

ok, just so i'm clear...i'm looking for a head unit that has a red display (to keep in tune with the gauges). Must have a CD player, and iPod direct hook up. I looked at this one on your site. What do you think? Is there a better one for a better price? Let me know, and thanks! Clarity Audio and Electronics LLC: CDA-9884
