Heys guys, Sweet site!! Im new here and glad I found this place. Anyway, I have a 08 gp with monsoon and onstar. I wanted to put in my brothers pioneer single DIN deck in. My question is, can i keep onstar, wheel controls?? Someone told me i couldnt even install a deck on this car. Thanks for input.

You can definitely put in an aftermarket deck. I personally would go with a double din deck.
You can keep the controls, not sure about the Onstar though.
I don't know the specifics on what you need, but im sure my comrades will chime in. Good luck!

yes you must buy a gmos-01 radio adapter
this is it here but u can search around for better pricing
Axxess GMOS-01 (gmos01) OnStar Interface for Non-Amplified GM

and for steering wheel controls you will need this
again search around for better price
PAC SWI-PSv1 (swipsv1) Pioneer and Sony Factory Steering Wheel

and you will also need the dash kit to hold the new aftermarket radio in
    somthing like this
PONTIAC GM1596 Single din Radio Stereo Dash Install Kit | eBay

and u will also need a gm radio antenna adpater ( super cheap )
if you were buying the single din i would sugest that you go with a double din, but all the power to you, plus its free, hope all goes well hit this thread up if there are any more questions

He said that he was the Monsoon system which is an amplified system so the GMOS-01 will not work. What he needs is the GMOS -04

will the gmos adapter retain the computer functions of the car. I have read that the factory stereo is required for the computer functions such as calculated gas mileage, trip mileage, trans temp, and all other functions in the DIC.

The only thing you lose is the date on your DIC, I know that sounds bad.
