I have an 06 Grand Prix. It's all stock and basic, nothing fancy.
I want to get a new sound system for Christmas, but my dad is telling me the factory speakers are better than the Pioneer's I have picked out. I find that hard to believe. I am on a tight budget, but I want it to be loud and the stock speakers are cutting it.
How many watts are the stock speakers? Front and Back.
In case anyone was wondering, these are the ones I have picked out...
    Front-
    Pioneer TS-A1604C (TSA1604C) 6.5" 2-Way Component Speaker System

    Back-
    Pioneer TS-A6983R (tsa6983r) 6" x 9" 4-way A-Series Speakers

    Thanks!

I am not a big Pioneer fan, I run these in my 2008 and they sound awesome, great bass and sound. And they are running off the stock power.

For the fronts I did have to modify the stupid speaker mounts but other then that, they have been awesome.

I would spend a little extra and go with these if you could, you wont regret it.

I just need some cheap loud ones haha. I'm getting a sub, so I have the base covered.
    I'll look into those though

Cheap is not a good adjective when it comes to quality stereo equipment. I bought cheap once, it lasted 4 months. I bought quality next, it lasted 7 years.

And I have the factory system too. Nothing special, but it sounds great.

Those speakers do great with my subs. Set your crossover to 80hz and they are great. And IMO you cant go wrong with JL.

I am getting all of this for Christmas, so it can't be too expensive. If I got the JL's 6x9's then I wouldn't be able to get any for the front and I'm pretty sure I would blow them fast.

What about these? They both have great reviews and the RMS is higher than the pioneers.

If it matters, I got the front JL's a couple months before the rear and it was fine.

Those Kenwoods dont look too bad. Go to an auto sound store and listen to different speakers and see what you like. Tell them your budget and have fun.

Just posted on another thread, but Look at Polk Audio DB series. For non-amped applications they are amazing and if you can spend 150 right now they are on crutchfield for buy one get one half off. so its a damn good deal. Good all around high to mid low. Also don't waste your money on 4ways they are nothing but highs, and as for most types of music you will never enjoy the sound.

I have 4 speakers in the back, 2 on each side. Was there a 6 speaker option in 97 ? Any idea on sizes ?

All answers I have found say 1- 6x9 on each side. Have you actually taken the rear deck off to look at the speakers?

have the same thing in my 97 looks like a 6 speaker system. They put 50rms watt speakers in the car then hooked them up to a amp putting out 70rms (morons) lol I cant tell you if there was a 6 speaker option but it surely looks that way dont it (edit) I looked and yes there are 2 speakers each side in the back on my 97 so im guessing they came with some sort of option
