As title says I'm looking for 2 5.25s to replace my door speakers. I know when I bought the car the passenger door speaker had a bit of a crackle to it which I lived with, but now it's producing more crackle to the point where I'm going either replace it or take a shotgun to it. I've checked the other door speaker using the "bal" and "fade" controls and it's not making any crackly noises (and actually it sounds pretty good) but I figured while I'm at it I might as well get 2 new ones instead of replacing one then 6 mo later possibly doing the other.

I was pointed to this set of Polk Audio 5.25s by someone here on this forum. I forget who it was but they were saying that they are a decent set and that they would recommend them.
I don't want anything uber expensive (looking to keep it under $75 if at all possible) but I don't want total crap either. I'm as dumb as a rock when it comes to speakers and such so I'd appreciate any recommendations/suggestions.
    Thanks.

I have some 5.25 Alpine Type Rs I'll sell ya. They're mint. I got them with my rears from a friend who had them 3 months, the 5.25s don't fit my 04+ doors.

    They're the same as these:

I'm assuming/hoping they would fit in stock spaces. I'm not too worried about wiring, but I'm assuming I'd need to splice the connectors off of the stockers and put them on the new speakers correct? If so shoot me a price Spade, I'm really looking at options right now.

I may have recommended the Polks lol... I run the 6.5 version in my Monte. Definetly excellent budget speakers.

One still slow and loud... other one scoots just a bit.
