Hey i have an 08 grand prix base model and want a way to listen to my ipod and i have had no luck with FM transmitters. Anyone know what i will need as far as for removing the stock radio, i was told that security and alot of other stuff runs through the radio. Is this true, will i need some kind of modual or something outside the aftermarket radio that i will need to buy?

If you have XM radio or a CD changer you can install an Aux input.
This is what i have and it works great.
Things get tricky when trying to install an aftermarket stereo,
but i know it is doable.

if it's a base like mine you'll need an adapter to keep your door chimes, onstar (if u have), etc. etc. otherwise there is a cheaper adapter that works but you lose your chimes and onstar (the way i went. hell ya no door chimes)

only downfall i've found so far is it doesn't save the date on your DIC
