Ok so i was reading around that i can put 6.5 inch speakers in the doors of my prix. And i got excited cause i remember buying some xplod speakers that i never used. So i went to go find them and they were on my closet shelf in the box and i looked at them. They are Xplod 220w 6.5 inch 4-way speakers (model: xs-r1641)

    The back of the magnet says- Peak Power= 220w, Rated Power= 45w, Impedance= 4 ohms, 4-Way Speaker

So my question is what mods do i have to do to get these to fit in my doors. And what adapters do i need for the speakers to hook up where the old ones went. My car has the bose system but i replaced the stock HU with an xplode HU and would think these speakers are better than stock Please help me figure this mod out Ps. i dont care if they arent the best speakers i just want nice music to listen to

They should bolt right up to the factory speaker housing. If you try it and run into issues, post up, but you shouldn't have any problems.

there's a pretty good post about this burind around here somewhere. you won't need any kind of adapters, just cut the factory harness off and solder the wires to the leads on the speaker. as far as mounting, it involved removing the factory mounts and fabricating your own based on them... a.k.a. carpentry. more trouble than it's worth in my opinion

This should only be if the speakers have some crazy depth issues. Most 6.5 speakers will fit without having to modify the housing.

i've got 6.5" in my doors. I just removed that factory mounting bracket and got some mdf rings. Pre-drilled them and then screwed them into the door. I also put some butyl rope in between the back of the ring and the door. fasten the speaker to the ring. Done!
