So like i stated im new and one main reason i was attracted to the 04+ GP is the flat base of the door speakers so if cut properly could a 8'' midbass fit? anyone has tried?

I haven't seen this done yet but you could be a guini pig. If you could get some 8's up in there that would sound really good!

The mount for the speaker is behind the door panel anyways so let us know how it turns out.

    You'll want an enclosure.

    Preferably made of MDF.

Door will rattle to death and leak otherwise.

see i know the mount for the speaker is behind the door my overall plan is to remove that mount put is a 8'' baffle and cut the door panel itself open to like 9-10'' then drop mdf in the to make the difference then drop the speaker in that to make it look flush mounted

    Don't cut the door.

The skin panel is okay, but not the door.

And if the driver is open to the door, there is no point.

just make sure you spray paint any mdf that you use or coat it with fiberglass resin. it DOESN'T like to get wet.
