start with the HU i say.. the stock speakers are not terrible compared to others, ive got an 05, got my HU sitting on a shelf behind me waiting for one more part to go in, alerady changed the rear deck speakers because i had them sitting around lol didnt notice any diff after changing them, its the fronts in this car that make the diff.

Im listening and I think im getting the drift here lol. Now someone said the Preamp outputs on the HU isnt important? So if I got a HU with 2V would I be hurting myself? Or should I try to get a HU that puts out 4V preamp? I see a pioneer for around $350 that fits the 4V requirement. But If you guys say its not that important I could spend less.

I appreciate the input this is amazing info

Well I just reread this WHOLE thing again to try to understand it better!! which is helpful to slow it down. From what I got you guys say dont replace my rear speakers at all just keep the stock ones there?

Ok so then I just need to raplace the front speakers and possibly the one center speaker on my dash? and the HU? If so that makes things alot easier as I reduced the cost at looking for a rear speaker that would be around $80.

Ive heard talk of a good component system for the door setup. So lets say I go with compentent for the door stay with the stock rear speakers. Lets get a setup that way.

Still unsure what to do with the center speaker on my Dash.

I'm going with component on my fronts I think. Standard aftermarket rears. And a pioneer AVH-P4000dvd (bought used for $250)

I put kicker 6x9's in the back, 5 1/4 in the doors with the stock head unit. It is a vast improvement. More than enough bass for most people. Everybody that gets in my car asks if I have subs. They were about $170 for the 6x9s. I know they aren't the best speakers out there, but they sound pretty damn good to me

Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch.
Ron Burgundy: It did, didn't it?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart.
Ron Burgundy: I saw that. Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident.
Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

OK having issues finding stuff on the stock speakers to know if it would be an upgrade but what about this system

2 Sets of Hifonics Zeus ZXi 6.5C Components and ZXi40.4 Amplifier

    Does that look decent?

Speakers look cheaply made but doesn't mean they'll sound bad.

The amp looks like a certain Korean build house that makes a VERY good product. The flexibility on those crossovers is nice however Sonic doesn't tell you what slope they use. I say it's a good find. That amp can run a set up front, bridge 3/4 for sub and sell the other set of speakers on craigslist or here?

    Here's a sub

So your saying Only use one of those and keep the 6 x9s that are currently there wired to the factory amp? Cause my thought was to replace front speakers and the rears with the two sets. Or would that be a bad idear?

I think he's suggesting getting rid of the rear speakers completely. I had this suggested to me as well. It wasn't for me.

Soooo when are we gonna talk cabling?

Just hellping you spend a little of your moola.

    Amp Installation Kits, HDMI Cables

The 4 gauge wire for power to the amp was flexible and easy to work with/route.

I think its time to sell my stock tailights to make some cash to buy stuff :P

Would the stock speakers that come out be worth anything or just trash?

Yeah didnt think so! And yes its been my idea for some time... I just kept my mouth shut the more i talk and get ideas the closer it gets to happening. The speakers will most likely ahve to wait until I get my next check from work... Then no biggie on affording it lol
