I recently put in a Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD in my 04 grand prix gtp with monsoon sound. I noticed that the rear speakers are no longer working and I cant turn it up as loud as I could before without bad distortion.
Any ideas as to what I did wrong?

I just installed a Pioneer AVH-3300BT and I have no problems with my monsoon.
You should check to make sure your rear speakers wires are properly connected.
As far as the distortion, it may be that your deck is sending out too much power compared to the factory HU's for the speakers...but I don't have this problem.
It may be a feature with Pioneer decks, the LOUD audio option, if you have this turned on to anything higher than LOW---it can cause that extra gain to your speakers to sound distorted at higher volumes.
LOUD is primarily used for lower volumes attempting to keep dynamics of bass/mid/treble!
Any more questions just ask. Welcome to the site!!!!
I got it from Best Buy and installed with the instructions
Yes, I got Metra Axxess GMOS-04 wiring harness for monsoon
and the Metra Axxess ASWC for steering wheel controls.
It was pretty much like any other deck install in the end, match the factory wires with the aftermarket harness.
The ASWC requires you to connect the following:
Black - ground
Red - 12v power
Green/Orange- splice into the actual blue wire (A6) from the factory harness.
and then the trick... the Purple wire right next to the Blue one on the factory harness, you have to run a jumper to the 12v power cable as well.
