Alright guys well I was in the process of putting in LEDs in the door handles until my car started going haywire. The only thing we disconnected from the vehicle was the rear courtesy lights to solder the LEDs to come on and off with them. The vehicle is doing it's own thing by honking the horn, dimmer switch can unlock and pop the trunk. You guys have any idea what it could be?

The only ground I messed with was for the courtesy light bulb in the rear. We just soldered in the LEDs to the courtesy light so they come on and off with the lights.

But you put it back where it belongs and its tight right? Grounds can cause crazy things to happen if they are loose or connected wrong.

Thats right if a ground is wrong crazy stuff happens in my case a friend gave me a 1x4 in. LED panel that was hard wired, so I could change it out and use it as a map light I took out the normal bulbs and placed the LED panel inside and hooded it up to the 2 switches so it would come on or off when any of the 2 map lights were powered on. but what I notice happend after tapping into the feed wires was that when I turned the map light either one all the interior lights came on.

I like it better this way so I haven't fixed any thing yet.

Well that funny part is that when I plug the light back in that is when it starts to go crazy again like the trunk popping, doors locking and unlocking, and the horn going off.

What kind of LEDs... American cars don't respond well to Riciness

I agree with possible grounding issue

Ok guys sorry to revive my dead thread but recently I have been able to semi-disable the trunk popping, horn going off, and the doors locking and unlocking. But with some recent looking around I was wondering if the 2008 grand prix has a BCM and if a fried BCM could make this happen.

Remove what you added. Return the wiring back to 100% stock as it was before you added the lighting and see if the issue ceases. If it does you narrowed it down to

    1. Something you did
    2. A need for better lighting/install.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
