Hi I got a hold of a rear view mirror with compass from a 2003 LS I was looking at it and it seems to wave the compass sensor on it do you think It can work if I just splice in the wires using the wires from the original auto dimming mirror on the Grand Prix?

Just ordered my gentex a couple days ago and most if not all I was looking at just needed a hot 12 and a ground and the autodim and compass all will work.

Mirrors are all pretty easy. Most are standard and made by only a couple of companies.

Heck my Regal has a Maxima/Murano mirror with Homeylink
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Well I did plugged it in to a 12v power source And it seems to be working pretty fine even tho it was 7 pins on it I noticed that on the wire harness that came with it only has 3 hooked up Ignition, Ground and Reverse. Don't really care about reverse cause I think all it does is take the mirror off auto dim when you shift to reverse. I'll put it up ones I figure how to tame the original mirror off with out the metal brace come off the mirror.

OK already mounted the mirror up works pretty good didn't ever have to cut wires just pryed out the cables of the cars connectors and switched them out for the cables on the mirrors connector. everthing works fine mirror and compass. This is the mirror set up on the GP.
