I guess my point was that it doesn't matter where you are in the vehicle, vibrations occur. I used SPL as an example because even at the windshield you're talking 150db's. That's more noise than majority of daily driver installs at a 1 meter distance. Best buy and Circuit City had installs like that all day. Daily routine is strap an amp to the back seat and put some subs next to it. I had subs firing at an amp for 5 years without issue. It's luck of the draw...but it's not placement of the amp, it's installation.
Re: New sub and amp setup
I agree, installation is THE most important part. But why add extra vibration, if its not necessary. I was just trying to help him prolong his amps life.
Edit: If you ever have best buy or the like, install your amp....double check to make sure they dont run the power with the signal wires. They like doing that.

Yup yup!! I agree. Personally, I like having my trunk space!! :D I'd hide that sucker somewheres. btw. clean interior. I like it
Re: New sub and amp setup
Appreciate it... I think I have a pic of my install. I made a false wall, it hides the subs and all you see is the amp. And still has some trunk space. It actually killed any rattle my trunk had, way better than dynamat did.
