Just got new 6x9's for the store and they do not fit into the plastic lift bracket the OEM speakers did. Anybody have a solution?

Gotcha, thanks! Would these work to put 6.5's up front?

You shouldn't need any brackets to do your front speakers.

you shouldnt need those brackets period if you bought 6x9's.

the 6x9's should drop right in no problem.

I needed those brackets in my car when I did mine and they were 6x9's.

Umm that adapter doesn’t look like what he needs.

When I installed my new 6x9s I took a Dremel to the OEM mounts. I had to skeleton-ize them, it was a PITA but it worked.

    Unforunately they don't.

Well it seems like you installed 6.5's in your rear deck.

    not 6x9's.

    Mine fit just fine.

I have the entire plastic retainer with my aftermarket 6x9 out of the car.

    Lemme take a picture....

    Edit:

The plastic stuff there is one of those "bass boomers".

I put them in to see how'd they work.... not well. turns out 6x9's love oversized enclosures (aka your entire trunk) so i cut it open and tore most of it off.

Took less time than pulling the rear seats out.

    Well I installed these:
Alpine SPR-69C 6"x9" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield Signature
and they gave me the 6x9 bracket, but mine was bigger. It says it's universal, but that picture doesn't look right.

Sorry Milo033, disregard that link I posted for you.

Guy at installation shop said a lot of 6x9's require some mounting alterations for the speakers to fit. I brought back my alpine's and got some poo poo pioneer's. They fit fine.

My 6x9 Memphis PRs dropped right in, bolt holes were just SLIGHTLY off, but a little boring on the bracket and they fit snug
