So im keeping my stock hu cause i hate aftermarket ones. I'm going to buy a new 5 1/4 component set with crossovers and everything ok. Can i run the stock wires from the head unit to the amp? Im an audio noob and i admit it, i dont know much, anything would be helpful lol.

The amp would typically be mounted in the trunk and the stock wires run from the stock head unit so you're kinda screwed.

Buy a 250 ft roll of 14 gauge and go to town.

Try to make the runs as short as possible.

Shorter they are the less losses you'll have.

Also less losses if you go with 14 gauge instead of 16.

Copper corrodes regardless so it wont make a difference in the long run.

I was mostly referring to the inevitable open ends where the connections are made.
