Okay, so i blew my speakers. Pretty much all of them. Im guessing one of the 6x9's has wiring problem, cuz it works sometimes, i blew the rest tho... So im swayed to get these:

Rockford Fosgate Prime R1693 for the rear deck and

Rockford Fosgate Prime R152-S for the front.

    Now my questions:

Im keeping stock head unit, so im not getting an amp. Im guessing these should work ok as stock replacements, correct? (non bose coupe)

Now, i want to mount the separate tweeter where the old ones (keep oem look), anything i should know about doing that?

Also, about the speakers: Im looking for solid bass for the rear, and clear mids and high for the front. Dont want a subbbbb.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks guys.

Well you could do 6x9 subs in the rear deck and use a small amp to power them. Just another option.

Except you still need an amp to get any good power from them.

i jus replaced all my speakers too, i went all jbl gto series, 6x9s and 4in. in the rear deck and a 5 1/4 components in the front, although i do have a jvc head unit. no amp and it sound great, bass, mid and highs. i have the same prob about the tweeter. i attempted to put in the 5.25's but my tweeter is bigger than the factory hole. so if you figure something out lemme no also thanks.

Im not looking for ridiculous bass, something in the terms of original speakers. They had plenty of bass for my taste.

We're not talking about ridiculous bass either. If you've ever noticed my threads I hate that rattling announcement crap that you hear from a mile out.

What we're referring to is the ability of a speaker to hit 20hz or somewhere near that. A 6x9 isn't going to do bass any justice when it starts rolling off at 60hz or 50hz. If you think it does...tell me how that works out after somebody "EQ's" your system and blows them. You can have simple bass and simple setups on the cheap if you pay attention to REAL WORLD PHYSICS vs. car audio marketing/forum snake oil rants.

Guys...difference in bass with sub that is CORRECTLY TUNED to match the mids is friggin incredible. People poop their pants and can't believe my sub is actually in the trunk because the sound is on the dash and in front.

First off, I'm pretty sure those are just crossovers lol.

Second, I think subs need to complement the rest of the system. Meaning don't ****ing overdrive them like a mother****ing hoodlum. Loud subs != good subs. Basically the subs are there to fill the lower portion of the audio spectrum where smaller speakers can't, not overtake the whole damn thing.

research. yes it's been done. At least in my 04+ and I've seen others on here too. Tweeter placement should be based on the response of the actual tweeter itself. They're not all made the same.

So you guys are saying get the 6x9 subs. Okay. If yes, then i for sure need an amp... and thats an expense i don't want to get into. And if i had the subs, couldnt i be better off getting coaxial speakers and stop fking with the tweeter?
