Well honestly, they were put together very simply, not very complicated but I could for sure send you some pictures if you like. All they are is a single piece of MDF with two back triangle braces made from MDF. The braces are screwed to two L-brackets that I welded to the trunk.
I wont need one for the JH1200 since ill be hiding it but i want to show off all the polk audio and RE audio stuff. Even if polk isnt top of the line i still like how they look in the car.
Represent with what you got, thats what i did!
And have you tried to swap the door speaker grills on your car before? Cause im at a loss of how i would mount the new grills and if they aren't to big or to small for the slots, I know that the grills will be 5.25 inch in diameter because thats how they actually measure the speakers. But im not sure about the cars grills or how thier mounted cause like i said ive never removed the door panels on this car. And its alot different than my silverado or my buick regal were.
Haha honestly, I wouldn't touch the grills. I removed mine because I installed some 6.5 inch speakers in those locations. You can take the grills off easy, but one it looks terrible and putting on your new grills will be next to impossible because the door trim is rounded around the speaker, but then again it may be easier because your grills are smaller.
Post pics with what your doing!
Re: Full sound system upgrade, amplifier help
Imo new grills scream "steal me". I want my system to look stock ;)
The closer an install looks to "professional", meaning no bling and aesthetics that blend into the factory panels, then the less likelihood of somebody being tempted. There's a certain frustration and intimidation that people have when they can't easily deconstruct an object for their personal gain. However, a real thief will do whatever it takes.
Still...cuts down on temptation of others in the long run. Makes it tougher to spot too.

for 1800collect
The polk audio grills honestly look like they could've been factory. I'm using the DB series speakers in the doors, but im going to use the grills off the DXi coaxial's we sell at best buy since the owners of cars we install them in never want to keep them. If you've seen how the DXi series looks believe me they look like they could be factory. Besides for any grand prix owner the car will obviously not be factory. I currently have a giant subwoofer between the back seats facing the cabin, and a 300 dollar headunit with a custom dash panel that says grand prix gt with red backlit letters. Plus ill have kick pods and those wont be factory either. So its gonna be pretty obvious anyway.
for chamilton
Yea that sounds simple enough to build, though i dont know about welding to the car. I may settle for bolting them in and using a slightly different design. And Like the idea of representing what I've got but that amp is huge and i want the car to flow together. All black speakers, and subs that look like a set, plus the one side of my sub box is going to have a logo on it so i cant put it there, and i really need trunk space.
Asside from just the speaker grills ill be redoing the interior completely over the summer. Ill change the tan leather to tan with maroon centers and grand prix logo on the seats, suede headliner, custom floor mats, custom b pillar gauge pod, a red LED interior kit and some other upgrades here and there. It'll look like a factory option, but any grand prix owner will know none of its stock so grills arent exactly a big deal
