I have HIDs in my stock fog housing. Both quit working at the exact same time. Can anyone help diagnose the problem?

I dont think there are any inline fuses on HID's..but there should be a Fog-light fuse either under the dash, or under the hood..check to see if there is, and if its blown, that could do it.

If you have a relay harness, the relay may have gone bad...

Check all your connections, then double check, because it'd be weird for both bulbs/ballasts to go bad at the exact same time..

mine quit working a few months ago, cleaned up the relay ground and put some electric grease stuff from autozone on it and they work ever since. I know it's frustrating but a lot of the times its the ground. got a low washer fluid warning and fixed that by finding the ground and cleaning it...it happens man. definitely check the fuse but if that's good then next look at connections and grounds

Ok i have no relay harness's. The bulbs look fine everything is still connected. It has to be the fuse since they happened at the exact same time. Im going to try and get out of bed and get something productive done on my car this weekend.

thanks 01 for the maxi fuse enlightenment.

probably burned out connections. That'll happen when you don't use a relay harness.

Its the 10a fuse in the engine fuse box. Replaced it after taking everything apart cleaning putting back together. Wouldn't work with the stock bulbs so knew it was a fuse. Then i realized the fuse that i missed before.

But now I replace the fuse and it blows again after like 3 sec.

Pretty much, probably best to just make your own though.

parts stores have lighting relays on the cheap.

My fog lights did that once I put the HID's in. Checked everything, turned out to the be fuse, so I replaced it, and it never blew again...guess it was just an old/faulty fuse...

fuses do wear but i have 55 watt halogen fogs and they ran fine on stock wiring and fusing.

Installed a relay and redid all the wiring because one side would go on and off due to bad ground.

    Brighter now.

Well like i said. replaced the fuse it blew 3 times. So either my wiring is bad. Although i just redid it all, or i need something to help it.. ie relay. But I have had these fogs for over a year and first time having a problem.
