    I have a 1998 grand prix gt and im having electrical issues the heater only runs on the number 5 setting any time i turn it on to the 1 2 3 or 4 settings the headlights shut off but the fogs and running lights stay on i did replace the headlight switch the heater switch and the heater regulater and still have issues can some atleast point me in the right direction

    ignition switch
    Red GTP coupe, Intake, Poly Dogbones. 8K HID's, Headers, DIY HUD, Aeroforce Scan Gauge,Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794, MSR 045 18" rims, Borla Cat-Back.

    There is the blower resister located behind the blower under the glove box. When that resister goes out, it can cause all kinda electrical problems. If your first 4 fan speeds are not working, it sounds like the resistor shot the big one.

    I replaced the ignition switch and the regulator as well I'm starting to think maybe ground or the box under the driver side dash that dings when the key is in and the door is open because no matter what if the key is in or not it still bdings when the door is open

    Sounds like your ignition switch is bad still. Did you put a NEW one in or a USED one in?

    i used a brand new ignition switch unless its body parts or something thats not vital i always buy brand new

    yes i did i replaced the resister ign. switch heater control headlight switch just about everything

    Just to rule it out did you replace the actualy ignition switch or just the key cylinder?

    I am having a similar issue with a 2003 GTP. when I turn the heat on the automatic lights go out and I have to turn the switch to get the lights on and the CID goes black. Anybody?
