My opinon would be components or nothing. Tweeters at your feet will do you no good at all.

    I'm just buying 3 standard 6 meter RCA's

Knukonceptz product detail for NEW KARMA SS 2 CHANNEL 6 METER RCA CABLE

and 50' speaker wire (since i won't be hooking up rear speakers i figure that will be more than enough)

Knukonceptz product detail for KARMA SS 12 GAUGE SPEAKER WIRE

also getting that amp kit you recommended whiney.

    Anything else I might need?

That should be all you need for the back, where were you planning to hook up to your battery? Thats the only other thing I can think of, I have a top and side post, so its easy for me to run all of my wiring.

take it from the fuse box.

Shorter runs = less voltage drop.

OK on to a NEW question (this is gonna be the longest thread here pretty soon lol)

Sound deadening. I definitely want to do the front doors and trunk. I was planning on just one layer on each atleast for now because I don't want to have to spend a fortune on this. For that same reason I was gonna go with b-quiet potentially (seemed reasonably priced). I was gonna do raammat but all they are selling now is the bxt II which is like the same price for half the amount...

Anyways, whats your opinions on that brand? good, bad, alright? anything else to check out instead? And assuming I'm gonna do the doors and trunk how much will I need approximately? Should I do the whole trunk top to bottom? Any other places where I could stand to throw a little that might have a very noticeably/annoying rattle?

Also, think I'm gonna get hertz hsk 165's for speakers

reasonably priced and excellent reviews. even sounded good through youtube vids i pulled up. i love good sound but im not a total audiophile or anything so im sure they'll do the job. Now to find a good price.... i saw some on ebay that looked potentially legit but it was really hard to tell... not enough seller feedback

If they are less than $250 new...be weary. Matter of fact...used that might be tough to believe.

HERTZ ENERGY HSK 165 6.5" 2 WAY COMPONENT SPEAKERS NEW (eBay item 190440244068 end time 04-Dec-10 20:53:28 AEDST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

i found this. $119. Price sounds sketchy but he's sold 7. also has over 1300 items sold and 100% positive feedback....

could this really be an amazing deal or is it a scam? what do you think?

EDIT: it's in AU money, but I checked conversion rates and AU to US conversion is like 1.03 so thats almost negligible

I've been down this road. Those are definitely fakes. We have a problem with a guy who resells those speakers for $250 on DIYmobileaudio.com

    I was almost taken too.

The box is a DEAD give away. If you ever have the chance to check out a dealer who is local, go look.

I figured as much. I wonder how he gets all that positive feedback though. Fake transactions?

Or all the people that buy them are too stupid to tell the difference. I would just get something you know is the real deal, at least you know what you will be getting.

Was searching through classifieds on DIYMA and came across a thread made by you lol. Too bad I didn't want these a few months ago. 225 is a steal compared to anything I'm finding.

That was a blatant lie lol.

Its a giant mess of wires.

Some not even hooked up to anything.

    follow rob's example.
