Few questions for a total audio n00b

Basic rule of thumb with CLD tiles(Dynamat, Raamat, Hushmat, etc) is that 25% coverage of the center panel of a problem area moves 90% of the resonance to a lower frequency.

so does that mean i should only cover about 25% of the trunk? And what part should I cover then? haha sorry I'm a little confused here. Maybe I didn't look in the right place but I couldn't find much relevant in that link. It sounds like it should have reviews from the sounds of it but I didn't see any.

He explains exactly how to "deaden" and lower the ambient noise in your vehicle. Read the front page carefully and go through the site.

And I got speaker wire, rca's, and dual amp kit from knukoncepts.

Besides sound deadener the only other thing I really need is the radio harness

Someone from another site told me this might work, but I want to make sure. It says not for use with monsoon systems obviously, but like I said, I don't give a **** about my chimes and I don't have on-star so I'd rather save $85 and order this. Will this work for my car minus chimes? Don't want to be getting ready to do all my installations to find out I have the wrong harness..

Also will I lose RAP with this harness? If so, is there any way to retain this somehow or is the crappy expensive harness the only way?

also I800... how would you suggest mounting the tweeters. I kind of want to put them in the A-pillar but I don't know how to go about that.

Ok after some searching I found a pretty good guide to fiberglass mounting the tweeters into the A-pillar

Seems pretty straightforward.

My only questions are how do I get the A-pillar's off and what should I use to make them look good after I'm done (paint them, etc...?)

Also where can I get the materials needed for cheap? My friend has a lot of tools and what not available but I need to buy all the other supplies.

Before you mount those suckers you BETTER position them with a putty or something just to see if you like the sound. On axis vs. off axis response of a tweeter can make it or break it when next to glass. Please try them out first...move them around to see what sounds best using the passive crossover.

Back to this, do you guys think this will actually work?

lol so no one seems to have an answer for that last question? I don't really know what switching the positions of the wire there is doing. I guess I could try and worst comes to worst and it doesn't work I can just put it back where it was and everything should work alright (minus RAP and chimes). Go figure I find a potentially helpful post and theres not one bit of follow up information haha. But after forking out as much as I did for my soundsystem (plus still some more for a sub box + fiberglass material) there's no way in hell I'm about to pay an extra hundred for some stupid integration harness haha. I'd rather just lose my chimes.
