This happened to me the other day too just driving and nothing. Check the amp and its good, wiring is good, subs are brand new and aren't blown rca's are good. 1800COLLECT just gave me an amazing idea with the ipod thing, hadn't thought of that. Oh and also two days ago it started playing at random times then it just completely stopped, pretty weird. Hope is just my HU.

one is fine, i believe the L is for mono in most cases but a stereo mini to RCA cable will have two RCA outputs.

you use both rca ports to make sure the amp is accepting both signals... granted its a mono amp but that means mono outputs not inputs.

josemolina, your problem sounds like a bad conection, does the amp stay on even when subs arent hitting?

yeah the amp stays on and doesn't go into protect. And I've already checked all the connections.

one common problem is the RCA jacks in the amp will have broken connections from being pushed on too hard, ive fixed 2 amps just by soldering the RCA negative lead back on

And you have checked everything that was mentioned in this thread? Then possibly something in the amp may be causing the problem. Time to crack er' open and see if you can spot anything.

Ok well I gave my amp to a friend to see if he could find anything wrong and then he hooked it up to his garage system and it worked. So now I gotta look at my subs again and all the wiring on them. It's just such a PIA to take out my box out of my trunk just because its bolted down to the point that if someone wanted to steal my subs they would just give up lol.

You could but sometimes they get messed up on the inside and you can't see it. So the best way would be to use the multimeter, that way you don't have to tear your interior.

Make sure your remote wire from your deck is still connected. Maybe its got a bad connection/loose and your amp isn't really turning on.
