Personally...that's over-kill. However, to each their own I would suggest building it inside the actual trunk. But I would also be modeling this using WinISD or similar programs. Do you know exactly what you want or are looking for from these speakers? I suggest finding the t/s parameters first.

I used a sealed box for 2 L7's in a friends GP that was 36 wide 15.5 high and 18 deep it gives about 2.25 ft3 per chamber

Do you like the AQ sdc 2.5? Ive heard alot of good things about them. The reason I asked is because my nephew has some that I'm going to put in a forward firing Sixth order bandpass and seal it to his pass threw. He just got them and I installed them into a pre-fab sealed box and they sound like sh*t. His plan was to break them in then let me build the new box.

Its for a 97 GP. It was designed for the subs and the cabin or loading environment. I also have a Fourth order design for those subs but its a forward facing box with the ports on the outer edges not in the center like the sixth order bandpass. Both boxes are designed to get maximum excursion on 1200 to 1400 watts and are tuned to 35Hz. That is what DJ from audioque told me to tune them at for the best response. He also said they should handle a AQ2200d in short burst but the guy that designed these enclosures said no way. They would exceed the sub suspensions limits and either bottom out or get some magic smoke rolling.
