I have changed the factory head unit to a jvc in my 98 GT (standard cd). The JVC has a wired remote input and I'm wanting to add a Pac harness so I can use my steering wheel controls. I have researched and found four possiable harnesses. Not shure which to get so I'm looking for input from you guys. The options I found are; Pac SWI-PS, SWI-Jack, and the SWI-X. Wondering which is my best option. Thanks

What's the model of the headunit?

The SWI-Jack and SWI-PS area bit easier since they have a plug that goes into the back of the radio. But in order to use either of these, the radio needs to have the plug connection on the back.

The SWI-X has an infared LED that needs to be mounted in an arear which faces the radio to receive the sigal from the steering wheel control button.

Go with the SWI-jack from pac. That's what will work with your JVC head unit. If you go on pac's website it will tell you witch JVC head units it's compatible with. Just to add to Guz reply the SWI-jack is only for alpine,JVC,clarion and kenwood with the wired input. The SWI-ps is only for pioneer and sony with the wired input. As for the SWI-x that's a universal piece for any head unit with a I.R. remote. I have installed hundreds of these pieces so if you need any more info just ask. Evan

Thanks guys. The radio has a factory remote 3.5 mm jack on the back. I will go with the SWI-Jack. Thanks again
