So a store near me was having a sale on their head-units and I've been wanting one for the longest time so I bought a Pioneer DEH-3200UB. I know it's not the greatest out there but it was the most expensive I could afford and it does what I want. I was only looking for something better than the stock radio that had a USB hookup for my iPod. This has it so I'm happy but just wondering what you guys think because I know pretty much nothing about audio parts but want to learn more. I'm also going to get a Humount for it when I install it in a couple weeks.

Does it do what you want?

Do you need more RCA outputs?

Do you want built in crossovers?

    DO you want USB?

Do you want Bluetooth hands free?

DO you want digital time alignment?

If you want to know whether the HU in question will sound ok...probably will. Your head unit should only represent your goals for the installation. If you choose to get into the hobby then it might be beneficial to grab something like a cda-9887 from alpine or the 800prs from pioneer. They have features and options that will take you a while to wrap your head around.

But personally, if it does what you want...who cares what we think? If you decide to get into SQ or SPL or something rather...get ready for a lot of reading!

Pre-out voltage and cross overs aren't that important at this stage of the game. DSP's and cross overs are easily added. Your HU doesn't HAVE to include them.

I swapped out an alpine cda 9884 with a kenwood kdc-x994 excelon and WOW what a diference, cda had 2 volt preouts and the kdc has 4 + it puts out a lil more power. With that Im running a calfornia profile 1040 runnin 80x4, bridgeable to 225x2, 2 12" kicker comps in a seald box, kenwood 6 disc cd changer, pioneer comps in the door but havent upgraded the rear deck yet. Amp install kit is a kicker zck8 about $100 at best buy, the kenwood deck was $300 through crutchfield signiture. All in all the install is very clean and sounds real good. thinkin about bridging the amp though for a lil bit more bump but not to sure yet. Id like to get a power cap but not sure what brand to buy.

why waste the money on the cap its just gonna make it worse it works for under a sec then just adds to the draw from the batt/alt
