Hey I'm new here so not sure if this has been posted before. I just got a 98 se with stock subs in it and i just put in my pioneer deck in. When i pulled the stock stereo out there was 2 clips attached to it. I hooked up the harness from the back of my deck and threw it back in. Then turned on my radio to find the subs weren't working. I'm kinda pissed because i actually liked having them for once. Was this other clip for the subs? If so there isn't a spot for it on my deck. Any clue on how i can get them to work again? Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Oh and there's a little fuzz sound I can hear when the music isn't very loud. I saw the thread on grounding by wrapping wire around the RCA jacks. This would solve that right? Thanks guys!

You sure you have factory subs? Is the noise when the car is running, or all the time? If it changes pitch when you rev it, the deck needs to be grounded better, then that is where you can wrap the wire around the rca's.

yeah it does. it booms pretty good with a good bass song which i was hoping would be better when i turned it up on my pioneer. and it sounds like white noise. i can only really hear it when i change stations or songs. or when the music is really quiet i guess.

My SE has 6 speakers, the tweets, the door panels and the 6X9's in the back. But as far as subs...... I doubt you have them stock. The stereo sounds good stock but I doubt it has anything in the trunk. I know Mustangs and vipers came with stock subs.

so i turned the subs on all the way and apparently they're working, but BARELY. best idea to save up for aftermarket then? or any idea how i can get them to work better? they're located on the rear deck next to the rear speakers.

They are not subs then, either they are 6x9's or 4" ones. Then it will have to do with your deck or resistance of the speaker or something.
