to the OP u memphis amps can be had for a good price... ive had my Mclass 500D for over 6 yrs now.... i blew it up a yr after i bought it due to my own stupidity... sent it off and they sent me a brand new one for free. other than me blowing it up... its been a great amp... i paid 400.00 brand new.
The sub is wired at 4 ohm cause I don't think the amp is stable at 1 ohm. So I'm getting around 400 RMS. That's why I want a new amp that is stable at 1ohm while producing 1000 Watts RMS
I think im messin wit the American Bass Amps and them American Bass XFL 12's
My bro got them and yeah....they smack too hard in his GP
Or if you're smart... start searching throug kijiji and craigslist
Well im getting a Kicker 1500.1 for 300 bucks never used before.. So now im looking for new sub options to go along with the amp. 1500rms at 2 ohm.
Ever had a sub before?
If not, might wanna start a little lower.
Or just get a 15" FI BLT and put it in a ported box and enjoy.
Im running a audiobahn a8002t 800w amp bridged to 2 12kicker comps in a ported box and love it. that amp is not that exp. speakers are though
500 rms means 2-2.5 inch voic coil.
and no t/s specs means its either **** or overpriced for what you're getting.
If your looking for a decent amp go with the audiopipe series. They push out the rms on 12volts and they are amazing quality amps. I run the 3k which is just 2 1500's in the same shell. I've tried everything when it comes to amps(JL Audio, JBL, Hifonics, Memphis, Alpine, Kicker, and Soundstream) and would recomend a audiopipe over any of those.
Good clean power on the cheap....Cadence.
Me and Matt have the same philosophy but we say it differently. Your goal should be to to move as much air space as possible if you're looking for decibels. That doesn't mean bigger is better. Personally...anything above 120db is useless for daily driving. I just don't see how it's enjoyable :/
FYI: 155+ db's using a 6.5" subwoofer in a 6th order bandpass. Your goal should be efficiency. More power doesn't always do the job. EDIT: (this was a burp...not music!)

Can't do it unless you go uber budget stuff.
I can take a look later tonight, but it's tough.
Ok cool thanks.. I just found a 12 JLw7 for 250.. how you feel about those? I have had multiple systems i feel like a noob to car audio asking people for help
I was just browsing and this doesn't look too bad...

What do you think about this one matt? Only issue I see is it likes power but 85db 1w/1m is what most subs are these days...and you have 800watts. A nice bandpass maybe? You could even utilize a hybrid isobaric with passive radiator?
EDIT: To make it simple they already modeled something for you + purchase price n' such...

Hey Gafford...it would help if you could give us your goals. i.e. size requirements, daily driving?...burps?...how loud you need it to be?
I always use the assumption of daily driving and moderate volumes with the higher end reaching towards 110db. That 12" would be fine for daily driving and the JL is very nice but I still think you could match multiple subs that are cheaper and still achieve the quality of that JL sub.
Matt would probably be more keen on this one....
