so ive got my car audio set up exactly the way i want it. i have this sub Pioneer TS-W301R Reviews
    This amp
Dual XPA4100 - amplifier Car amplifier reviews - CNET Reviews
    And this stereo
Sony Xplod CDX-GT630UI Car CD changer reviews - CNET Reviews
and when i turn up the volume on the stereo it seems to get quieter on the stereo not that the music is overpowering the bass. i just didnt want to spend a lot of money troubleshooting so if you know, it would be great.

Ever think you don't have enough sub for your power level?

Also try pushing in on the sub cone EQUALLY on all sides of the dust cap and see if it feels like its rubbing on anything.

    Wow, 50wpc at 1% THD.

    I have a 1979 ADS P-100 rated 50wpc into 4 ohms at .005% at 12v Its only 30 years old.

as far as no money, yea I hear that.

but like the others said, save your pennies and buy an amp that is decent for a sub. I'm not crazy about high power levels and I was running 240W x2 in a standard cab pickup with semi decent efficiency subs. It did what I needed for 7 yrs. But when you move the woofers from right behind your seat in the cab, to in the trunk all of that goes out the window.

sony stuff is crap IMO. Especially their "cheaper" stuff. And I did run a dual amp but one thing i made sure to do was buy one rated for twice as much power as what i needed. I believe they rate their amps higher than what they actually do, one way i have to prove this is with the HU volume at max, and amp gain at 12 db (max) there was only a couple of hard hitting songs that sounded distorted. Of course i didn't leave it there, i was testing it to see if my thoughts were right. Dunno what you have to say about that matt
