Kinda like when people talk about the pressure from their subs building up to a point where it audibly changes the sound of their rear deck speakers or even help the speaker to incur damage just because it's close to the sub. That's not to be confused with the idea of subs sharing common air space while playing stereo vs. mono.

But remember, theory and common practice is thrown out in a way when it comes to car audio. It's not just near field; it's reflections!! CA will always be trial and error until somebody creates a standard interior design.
Ha I hear ya.

Different learning methods for different folks.

Removing the influence of reflections should be your goal.

It greatly helps everything.
