Installing a Kenwood ddx6019 dvd with a kna dv4100 nav unit. Got a problem with the nav unit not giving turn by turn. I was told I have to connect the speed sensor wire to work properly, problem is i don't know the location of the speed sensor wire. If anyone has any sugestions or ideas please help. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

speed sensor wires are directly behind the hub... its the only wire that plugs into the hub itself

Umm... I'd vote thats total BS.

Nav systems use GPS to calculate your position AND speed. It shouldn't need two things to tell it how fast you're moving. : \

It is very normal for a Nav system to ask for a vss wire, in your car it happens to be dk. green and is Located at a 10 pin plug on the front of the drivers strut tower. There are two dk.green wires there, use the one in the corner of the plug.

Checked it out... Very true, and very odd.

Just remembered something, GPS isn't that accurate, so this just makes these nav systems that much better than the dash mount style.

Most indash navs use the vehicles own speed sensor and the maps on the dvd to give directions then refer back to gps to realign itself it if is not with in a set calibration Also it uses this for when the unit cant pick up the gps signal. In all it is more accurate.

Thanks ninja, do you know if there is another location for this wire inside the car, maybe under the dash? I'll give it a try as soon as get some time on my hands and I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again.
