    110 or 120A is stock I believe.

Find a local alternator shop, it'll be easier when it fails on you. Which it will.

The amperage all depends on what sort of amp you're running or plan to run.

10 amps is 144 watts at 14.4 V, thats hardly worth the effort.

And so I'd need to know the amperage draw of those amps to suggest a new alt rating.

Normally alts last 10 years or more, but when you put a lot of stress on them. they dont last nearly as long.

High output ones burn out even quicker.

    I'd aim for a 160-180 amp alt.

    $200-400

Go to a parts store and ask them if they know of any shops that will rebuild alts.

HO alts fail sooner, so when it fails, you'd better have a backup.

I agree with matt5112, just find a good, reputable alt shop and they can rebuild yours for higher output and you will end up spending less and it will be just as good if not better than buying a HO aftermarket

well if he buys a HO alt. online, his current factory one still works, so if it does fail, he can just swap back.

you can go either way with this one man, whichever u prefer.

sorry i lost the link to my HO alt. site...someone else can chime in on another site, i'm sure of it.
