Yeah, when I was getting off of work today, I was about two or three cars away from my car, when parked side by side, and only then it would finally unlock. Any further, it wouldn't even unlock.

Otherwise, it isn't that big of deal for me anyways. My last car, I had to unlock it with a key, since it didn't have power locks.

I can't have ANY car between me and my car. I mean, if there's a space big enough for a car to fit in there, it won't work..

anyone know how to extend it by adding an additional antenna to the module maybe? I've heard that it's behind the DIC, and I think I saw it when I was converting to digital DIC last month.

I have seen key fobs do different distances, but you also have to include the environment around. Normally it should work within 10 feet or a little more but that is only my opinion with a normally used key fob. Also if you replaced your battery and your still having issues you might need a new one, Dealerships run around $30 to $60. Find your self a junk yard, im not sure which numbers have to match its either the GM/LEAR or FCC ID code.

Hmm.. I don't know if I need a new one because when I bought this car I was given two remote and 4 more keys (excluding two with fobs!)

Well; one doesn't seem to be used at all, and both does poorly with new batteries, so i was thinking that the problem lies more in the receiver than fobs..

get an aftermarket keyless entry for 100$ and put it in yourself its easy....mine works from in the places i cant even see my car ...i could be parked in the farthest spot from the door at a theatre and be in the theatre farthest away from my car and i can still start/unlock/lock my car and get a response on the 2-way remote to let me know the command is confirmed...that feature is really nice during those "oh shyt did i lock my car?" moments.... then you can just check the remote to see if its locked and if not lock it from where your at one of the best hundo's ive spent..

I know that moments,, the car has improved my memory actually.

Well, I guess I have to get working on locating if i have remote start or not. (other issue, other posts..) Mine doesn't honk when locking, can't configure it using MALL PGM fuse,, it just won't respond(chime) to that part. (maybe it doesn't have one..)

I know this will sound stupid but if you open your mouth and hold the key fob up to your mouth close to your teeth you can get almost double the range. TRY IT IM NOT CRAZY!! I learned this when I was selling cars. Its works on mine and any other I have tried.

    Or try this...

put it under your chin and give it a try. I tried this once after my freind suggested it and I was in shock. It really works give it a try. Not sure how long of a distance you gain or why it even works like that lmao.

The electrical charge in your body helps boost the signal. It works in the same way as when you hold the antenna on a radio and it comes in clearer.
