Re: How far should I expect a stock remote keyless entry to work?
I own a 2006 GP with remote start. Owner's manual says it will work within a range of "approximately 292 feet". However, if you hold the remote under your armpit for 30 seconds, then vigoursly rub it back and forth against your forehead while reciting the Gettysburg Address in reverse, you can extend the range up to one half mile . . . Sorry, I couldn't resist :) . The stuff about 292 feet is actually in the manual, though. I'd be interested in knowing how they landed on that number, particularly since it is "approximately" 292 ( ? ).
