I don't know about your car, but the traction control on my GT is borderline useless. Example, roads slick and from stand still I floor it, (Stupid I know but I wanted to see how effective the stock t/c was) The car will let one wheel spin up to 70 km/h (top of first gear, I ease the throttle if it tries to shift...its already bad enough the car is barely moving yet the wheels are doing 70) after a second or two of this miserable attempt at getting off the line the Low Traction light turns on. Perhaps a second later it attempts to control the wheel spin and does so with very little effectiveness (braking?) By now the car is going more to the side than forward and it finally starts going along. Real traction control in a car like this is in your leg.

And as a side note: Traction control can only be disabled and in standby mode. If the traction control off light is on then its disabled. Theres no way to have it on full protect all the time. Perhaps the GTP system is a tad more comprehensive. I've seen some great traction control systems... (computer will not let the engine rev until it senses it has enough traction to do so and it slowly lets you rise through the gear in steps. best ones redirect power but if you're in a turn and aren't expecting it, be wary.) and this just isn't one.
