    need some help with this.
sometimes when im listening to a cd there will be a ticking noise coming from the speakers. it comes from all the speakers so i think its a head unit problem, and it only does it with cd's. doesnt happen with the radio or anything. any ideas what this could be?

well Id start by pulling the head unit and looking at how its hooked up and look for loose connections, if you have another head unit try wireing that up if the problem persists you might have blown speakers. does it have a poping sound with the car running or off? I know alternator whine is a common problem if you have a bad ground, you could also reground the head unit yourself if you wanted but Im betting that something is wrong with the cd player on the h/u its self..

no not only rock. you can hear it a little better with rock. i was listening to some old school nelly hhaha on the way home from work today and it sounded fine, at some point the noise came back.
