Absolutely, it would work no problem. My friend did it with a yamaha home audio sub in his corolla. It's pretty simple all you have to do is run leads from the speaker pos. and neg. terminals and connect them to the sub (not sure exactly which way they must attach the sub though i'll have to check with my friend next time I see him) and then buy a power inverter with a high enough output to handle the power draw of the amp in the sub and preferably hard wire it to the battery (power outlet or cigarette lighter will work fine but it will look alot nicer with all of the wires hidden).
I don't have a powered sub. I have two speakers with 12" subs and tweeters, but no powered amp I know they work fine with my cousins aftermarket amp, but i was wondering about the stock one.
1st, if they've got tweeters, they're probably not subwoofers, they're woofers. They will screw up your stoundstage really bad.
2nd, home theater subs aren't really set up to play music very well, they're set up for the effects for movies, so it wouldn't sound as good as it should even if they are subs.
3rd, home audio generally uses 8 ohm impedance drivers, so you're not going to get much power at all out of an amp that's set up for 4 ohm or even 2 ohm impedance.
