I have a Pontiac Grand Prix GT 2001 and I have been trying to install an amp some new door speakers and a sub. I successfully installed the door speakers but upon removing my stock receiver I find that there are no RCA outputs on my receiver. I hook up my amp without RCA outputs. So, is there a way for me to install an aftermarket reciever and still use my steering wheel controls? Also is there some adapter or something that will allow me to use my stock reciever with the amp? I've found a few things that may work but im not sure if it is the right thing. One adapter I found is here http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundremote3.html
Is that the right thing? I know a little about car stereos but i'm starting to get lost with the steering wheel controls. It looks like there is an extra wire harness for the steering wheel controls. Are there maybe aftermarket recievers that have a place to plug this in? That or an adapter may work right? Please help me. I just want my new system plugged in and working. Thanks a lot in advance.

You can use a line out converter to run a amp & sub with your factory deck if that's tha route you want to go..

yes u can use that line out converter as ice blue states above.

or if u get an aftermarket headunit, u can use this ZZ Performance and keep ur steering wheel controls.

Thanks a lot guys, thats very helpful. Do you think my factory receiver has enough output/power to sound good with 2 5 1/4" alpines in the front doors and a 10" sub in the trunk? I'm using a 800W bridgeable 4 channel kenwood amp.
