A quick question for anyone who has replaced the rear 6X9's in a 2001 or comparable GP how do you remove the rear deck lid. Also can the speaker grilles just be removed instead of removing the whole deck lid. Any help you could give me would be awesome. Thanks!!

To remove the rear decklid in the grand prix gt you just have to take out the back seats, then you will be able to pop off two plastic pieces that hold the rear deck in behind the rear seats..... Also, i was not able to remove the speaker grilles from the rear deck because they have lots of retainer clips connecting them. Let me know if you have any more questions or if you need more detailed answers

You will first need to unhook the backseat seat by pulling on two black ring tabs on either side of the seat, near where the seat meets the floor. Next you will notice there should be two seat bolts and two that hold the seat belts, unbolt all four of these. Next remove seat back but pulling away from bolt anchors and wiggling seat up and down till it comes loose, if you look in the trunk you will see a couple black metal anchors that slide down to fasten backseat top to car these are what you need to remove from slot to release backseat. Next once you remove the seat you will see two black anchors holding the back deck lid in place pull those out with tool or pliers and slide deck lid cover out and down. Now you will see the speakers and the four screws for each speaker undo the screws and replace with your new 6x9s.
