So I bought a dual brand cd player for my 2000 gpse. I got it hooked up and the power works but I have no sound what so ever and the rear of the stereo gets really hot. Can anyone assist me in resolving ths problem?

Did you use a harness when you hooked it up? Double check the wires. Sounds like you MAY have crossed EVERY speaker wire. Just a quess though.

Yea I used a harness. Would crossing the wires make the stereo get hot though?

yea if you don't use the wright wires and you cross them wrong with postive and negative it can make the stereo hot and can damage the Speakers

crossing negitve and positve wouldnt matter just make speaker move in wrong direction it would be a problem if you are useing a grond of one channle and the positive of a second channel and vise versa. lots of resistance will produce the heat.

if your car has monsoon you gotta hook up the blue wire on the harness. amp turn on wire and stereo getting really hot sounds more like the stereo is fukked go get a pioneer or alpine and make it worth the work
