So, after my 4th Metra GMOS-04 I finally got everything in my 06 GXP to work. (I dont know how they can sell these things, they're such garbage.) The only problem is that I'm getting noise coming through the speakers. Its not terrible, but its enough to bother me. Since I don't have tons of experience with car audio, I was wondering what I should do. Anybody that has car audio experience that can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

After i have used the GMOS-04 i learned a few things about it. There is a gain adjustment on the unit, you should try turning it down to see if it continues. The other and the option i went with because i didn't like the GMOS-04 is to go with the peripheral GMAH24B.

You mentioned noise coming from your speakers, that is going to be a grounding issue. There are a couple methods to fix that. One is to get those resistors you put on the speaker lines, and the other is the one I SWARE BY! And it costs pennies! Literally!

If you are using an after market HU, amps connect via the RCA jacks, then you are more than likely getting a bad ground. If you are not using AMPs connected to the rear of the HU, you still are more than likely having a ground issue.

The one way I mentioned involves purchasing those line noise resistor connectors at your local car audio shop, they run anywhere from $10-30 bucks depending on how bad the dealer wants to take you to the cleaners. And more times than not, that doesnt even include installation. But if you managed to hook up your aftermarket coupler, you could do those yourself as well.

The other method I spoke is rather quite simple but ingenius. It is using a piece of 12-14ga wire attached to the rear plate of the radio and then wrapped around the RCA jacks, if you are using amps. The other is the same method, but instead of twisting it around the RCA jacks, you run the wire to a good ground in the car.

That should help with the noise.

You might wanna post that pic or make a sticky of the pic...it seems this question is raised alot here

If that solution does not work for you then check your plug wires the could also be a problem.
