If you want loud go with the Kicker L7's with around 600 - 700 watts to each. They will take more if you have it. $400 brand new for 2 subs off ebay plus you can get the square trader warranty for another $35 which is good for 3 years
2008 Grand Prix + Kenwood KVT815DVD, Kicker SXRC Controller, Kicker SX 1250.1, Kicker (2) 12" L7's, Kicker SX 900.4, Kicker RS65.2 Components in front. Infinity Refs 9623i 6X9's in rear

it is not hard to get loud with $400-$500. here is a break down.
build you own box. roughly $30 for a sheet of mdf and $5 for a box of screws and $5 for glue.
you can get 2 good 12's for around $200-$250. and a amp to push them for around $150-$250.

to put it in perspective. my wife's car has 2 american bass xfl dual 4 ohm 12's which were $225 brand new.
she has a crunch p1500.1 which was $185 brand new.
i built the box which was $32.87 after tax for a full sheet of mdf.
her amp kit would have been $20 brand new.
all in all i have less the $470 in her car. she does a 147.6 @ 48 hertz. i kept the factory HU in there and left to bose system as well. she has a '00 GT.

    I wouldn't trust a $20 wiring kit runnning at 1 ohm.

LOL on the FI. I had 2 12" BTL's and they don't compare to the L7's. Everyone has their opinions though.

Best advice FTW-- Go to a place that has car audio, listen to the gear (paying attention to SPL vs price) and then find it cheaper online

with the right power FI's will slam
1998 Grand Prix GTP Stock for now mods to come soon. Alpine 9885 head unit, 2 JLW3V2 10s, 2 Jensen 650x2 amps, and Tsunami wiring all the way around.
Ladies and gentleman take my advice. pull down your pants and slide on the ice
