I changed out my head unit once before, but the CD player in the replacement took a ****. So, I swapped the face plate onto the old unit, and tried to put it back in the car. Apparently, the old head unti grew about half an inch, because it won't go all the way into the dashboard o nthe right side anymore.

    Any ideas?

I was being sarcastic. What I think is happening is that the cables are getting in the way. Why they didn't get in the way before, I can't imagine.

I just wanted to know if there was any way to make them behave.

Sure there is.. hand the radio to anyone else in the universe and they'll be able to slide it right on it.

There's a plastic bracket with pegs that have to line up. it should just go straight in.
