2002 GTP, 139K miles in great shape, just recently the key would not go all the back to removal position & the DIC went dark. After reading a ton of threads I've:

    • check all fuses
    • checked all relays
    • replaced ignition switch
    • reset the computer
    • disconnected the battery for a few hours
    • removed the lock cylinder to see if anything was out of order

All to no avail??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

under the column is a pop off button, you push a pencil or the likes up inside to free the key, that part is likely bad. you can roll up a business card or use a fat straw and cut it to length so it pushes the release button with the cap back on.

directions for opening the column are in this link http://sparkys-answers.com/2009/09/2...-changing.html iirc the part is in the pics there too.

You need to replace or remove the park lock solenoid. I removed mine.
