I just bought a 2005 Grand Prix GT a few days ago. Long story short, the previous owner had installed a pretty nice sound system, but they had taken the aftermarket amp with them, leaving the wires exposed in the trunk and none of my speakers working. I took it to Best Buy and the guy gave me two options. Either I purchase a new amp and new wires, or just purchase the new wires and he will hook them up to the radio (which is a Sony, not sure which model). I chose the cheaper way because I was told it would sound just about the same just not as loud. So once they finish I turn it on and all of the speakers are working, but there's absolutely no bass. This is where I'm confused... previous owner had installed two Infinit subwoofers in the trunk and the stock monsoon amp in between them. Wires all seem to be running through it, so I don't understand why when I turn my subwoofer to max power, nothing changes. It's basically just treble. I'd like to get input before bringing it back to Best Buy tomorrow. Also, my auxiliary port isn't working. I've tried three different cords, nothing. Thanks!

Your first mistake was going to Best Buy. Take it to a reputable car audio place. If it originally had an aftermarket amp in it and now instead of the subs running off the aftermarket amp they are running off the stock amp or the head unit this is something you never ever want to do with aftermarket subwoofers as you will blow up your stock amp and or head unit.
Also a picture of the wiring they did would help. And the model number of the radio its usually printed right on the front of it.

So basically I should purschase a new amplifier if I want to use the subs? There are two Infinity 9623i reference series. 100W rms 300W peak. Do I need a certain amp for those? Also, the model is a CDX-GT630UI. I've tried turning the aux port volume option up and nothing comes out.

Those subs are drawing very little power, so you shouldn't need much of an amp to push those. I had a 750W JL Audio amp to push my 12W7, which runs at 1000w rms and 2000 peak.

Edit - Just realized those are 6x9's. What subs are in the car?
