So I got the green light to get a double din unit. I posted a thread about Android head units and didn't get any replies. After more research I gave up on that for now and decided to stick with a normal stereo for now. So after a few more weeks of trying to see what was out there, I finally settled on the Kenwood DDX-9902S. It isn't the greatest stereo out there but it isn't the worst. Most negative reviews *****ed about screen brightness and washout and only 1 USB hookup. Neither of those will be issues for me. It has an HDMI hookup which I plan to use for phone screen casting. It has Android Auto and Carplay so now if I decide to Iphone next May, the stereo works either way. It also is loaded with everything else... bluetooth, SiriusXM, HD Radio, DVD, Idatamaestro ready, iPod etc, etc. I spent a good portion of yesterday wiring up the Axxess steering wheel button control, the Sirius tuner and everything else. The Axxess worked on the 1st shot. I got creative with it. It wants you to tap into pin #14 of the main harness. I turned around and pulled my adapter harness apart and robbed a pinned wire from another stereo harness and put it in mine. This made the install much cleaner. I zip tied the Sirius tuner to the metal brace at the back of the dash so it on won't go anywhere. I ran the bluetooth mic under the dash and up the A pillar on the driver's side. Today I need to find homes for the GPS antenna, SAT antenna, ground the parking brake wire, make the rat's nest of wires look nicer, and then bolt the stereo down. I will have to pull it again to run an HDMI dongle or wire, haven't decided yet, and install the backup cam. Doesn't matter right now because I am sending the dash to Double D and letting him modify it. Scoff all you want but $120 for perfection and fresh paint is worth it to me. I don't have much time to take that on right now. I should have had this thing installed and done yesterday but I had to bounce around on other household stuff. KC Chiefs game is next weekend so there isn't squat getting done then. Pics to come eventually. If anyone has any questions about this stereo or what I have done to wire it up, feel free to ask. This will complete the stereo system for good on the car. So here is the list of equipment...

Kenwood DDX-9902S
Polk Audio 6.5 100 watt RMS components up front
Kenwood 100 watt RMS 6x9s out back
Pioneer 4 channel 100 watt RMS amp for the interior speakers
Kenwood 12" sub and Kenwood Amp for bass.

Not going to win a stereo soundoff anytime with this, but it sounds good to me and there is a fair amount of money into it for as average as it is. Any questions or criticism, fire away...
